Hospice can be an emotional and heavy time for everyone involved, and we want to make the time as meaningful as possible while eliminating unnecessary stress and anxiety from your plate. We have an amazing team and resources to make hospice a good experience.
Nurses
We have highly skilled and trained nurses that help with the patients medical needs. They will discuss the full extent of the diagnosis of the patient with friends and family and curate a plan based on their specific needs. They will also administer medication to help with pain and continue to assess vitals. Nurses and nurse assistants are there to help the patient stay as comfortable and pain-free as possible.
Social Workers
Our medically-trained social workers help families navigate through the challenges of hospice. They can assist families with finances, and filling out paperwork, and can help cope with the social and emotional turmoil that hospice can bring.
Chaplains
Our chaplains offer spiritual support, providing comfort and peace to patients as they approach the end of life. They are available for prayer, listening, and helping patients find meaning in their experience.
Volunteers
Hence the name, these are the people that are willing and want to be there for the patient and their loved ones. They help fill the need for companionship and are there to enjoy daily activities with and give the caregiver a break if needed. We love our volunteers and are so grateful for the way that they enhance our services.
Home Exercise Plan
At BRiO, we customize a home exercise plan for the patient. These can be very small and simple exercises to keep the joints mobile and free from pain, such as stretching or various kinds of yoga. We will make these exercises specific to your needs so that you can live as pain-free as possible in hospice.
Bereavement Counseling
We offer counseling services to cope with grief throughout this transitional stage of life for the patient’s loved ones. They are provided before and after the death of the patient to help with the challenges that come with it. We provide group counseling, funeral services, and other community and educational resources for support.
Caregiver Education and Support
Taking on the role of a caregiver can be an extremely rewarding but tough duty to fulfill. It can be overwhelming and you may not even feel qualified to be a caregiver. We have educational resources and support that can guide you through caregiving responsibilities and help you to know that you do not have to take on this role alone.
